This is "Children's day" held around 14th November in honour of Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday to reflect his special affection for chidlren. The celebration is a huge party for the children comprising of fun, games and a feast. The highlight of the day is the variety programme performed in front of 600 children and parents.

Shibir (Camps)

There are various camps held through the year. Talim Shibir, Shishu Shibir and most important in everybody's diary 'Jeevan Ghadtar Shibir', literally meaning “life moulding camp”. This is a four day camping trip combining vigorous and relentless activities. The day starts at 06.00 and does not finish till 22:00. This camp aims to encourage independence and self-reliance in every child away from their parents and home comfort.

The camp has an age limit and is every year but for younger children there is Shishu Shibhir, held every two years.

Talim Shibhir are for those in the weekly Talim sessions on sunday to learn more about Shishukunj and in depth. Shishukunj promotes equality amongst its members and all these values mentioned are lessons learnt through a weekend of sheer fun! Shibir is about pulling together no matter your age, gender or status.
